Erythrophleum ivorense A.Chev. Syn.- E. micranthum Harms, Erythrophleum suaveolens Brenan.

Commercial names:

Tali, Elondo, African oak.

 

Location:

All our Elondo comes from west, center and east Africa.

Wood Fitness:
Elondo is rated as Exterpark wood fitness A.

 

Physical properties:

COLOR: yellow-brown to red-brown.

Will fade to silver grey if exposed to U.V. rays.

High density wood with no risk to be attacked by termite.

GRAIN: very interweaved

DENSITY: 890-960Kg/m3

HARDNESS: 8.5-(10.0) very hard

CONTRACTION: moderate

CONTRACTION COEFFICIENT:

Volumetric: 13.7-14.5% (0.53-0.67)

Tangential: 8.3-9.2% (0.25-0.33)

Radial: 5.1-5.4% (0.14-0.20)

DURABILITY: very resistant against the action of fungi, termites and marine xylophagi.
