High-density bamboo decking for professional projects

After processing, Exterpark Bamboo reaches a density above 1,200 kg/m³, suitable for both residential terraces and demanding, high-traffic professional applications.

From raw bamboo to outdoor-ready board

Exterpark Bamboo starts from bamboo stems aged 5 years and up to 10 metres tall. The bamboo is heat-treated between 150°C and 200°C for stability and durability, treated to resist fungus and decay, and transformed into outdoor-ready boards in 35 days, finished with three coats of protective oil.

Natural and carbonized finishes

Exterpark Bamboo is available in two finishes, natural and carbonized, both built on the same high-density, 100% bamboo core.

The Shark system: one of Exterpark’s game changers

Exterpark Bamboo uses the same patented Shark system as the rest of the Exterpark range:a fixing system engineered to eliminate the drawbacks of conventional decking installation.

Shark keeps every fixing hidden beneath an invisible profile, so no screws or joints interrupt the walking surface. It’s available in screw-in and screwless versions. Individual boards can be removed and replaced without disturbing the surrounding deck.

FSC certified, sustainable bamboo

Exterpark Bamboo is FSC certified and can contribute LEED points and Singapore Green Label credits on qualifying projects. Bamboo itself is a rapidly renewable material, reaching maturity in around 5 years, considerably faster than many timber species, according to the International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation (INBAR). Bamboo can also grow up to 60cm per day, one of the fastest growth rates of any plant.

Bamboo decking for international projects

Exterpark Bamboo has been specified for hospitality projects including Fairmont & Raffles Hotel at Katara Towers, Doha, demonstrating its use in demanding, high-end hospitality environments.

Frequently asked questions

Who supplies Exterpark Bamboo decking?

Exterpark is the manufacturer and supplier of Exterpark Bamboo, its high-density natural decking range for residential and professional projects.

What density does Exterpark Bamboo decking reach?

After processing, Exterpark Bamboo reaches a density above 1,200 kg/m³, suitable for both domestic and heavy-duty professional use.

Is Exterpark Bamboo FSC certified?

Yes. Exterpark Bamboo is FSC certified and can contribute toward LEED points and Singapore Green Label credits on qualifying projects.

How is Exterpark Bamboo decking installed?

Exterpark Bamboo uses the patented Shark system, with a recommended joist span of 37 cm, adjusted according to traffic and load requirements.

How does the Shark system work?

Shark secures decking boards using a patented fixing mechanism with an invisible profile, keeping every screw and joint hidden beneath the surface. It’s available in screw-in and screwless versions.

What makes the Shark system different from conventional decking installation?

Conventional systems leave screws or joints visible on the surface. Shark hides all fixings beneath an invisible profile and allows a single board to be removed without disturbing the rest of the deck.

What is the invisible profile?

The invisible profile is the part of the Shark system that conceals every fixing beneath the decking surface, so no screws or joints are visible when walking on the deck.

Is the Shark system installed with screws or without?

Both options are available: screw-in and screwless. The choice can be adapted to the requirements of each project.

Is Exterpark Bamboo suitable for high-traffic areas?

Yes. Its high density (above 1,200 kg/m³) and 100% bamboo composition make it suitable for both domestic terraces and heavy-duty, high-traffic professional projects.
